Description

The Adaptation Fund accepts project and programme proposals on a rolling basis across its funding windows. Climate-adaptation proposals must be submitted through an accredited National, Regional or Multilateral Implementing Entity and align with national adaptation priorities, strategies or Nationally Determined Contributions. The Fund’s Direct Access model allows accredited national institutions to directly access and manage adaptation finance, while additional windows support innovation, learning, project scale-up and locally led adaptation. The Fund states that submissions can be sent to the secretariat at any time and technically recommended proposals are placed before an upcoming Board meeting. NGOs and research organisations normally participate through, or partner with, an eligible accredited implementing entity.
